Bao Dao

Early Life and Military Career

Born in 1892 in Liaoning, China, Bao Dao was a Chinese general who served as Commander of the Chinese collaborationist army under Wang Jingwei's regime. He graduated from the Beijing Military Institute and held prominent positions in the Chinese Republic's Central Military Council from 1931 to 1939.

Collaboration with Japan

In 1939, Bao surrendered to the Japanese and was labeled a traitor by the Chinese government. He joined Wang Jingwei's Central Government, where he was appointed as General and commander of the army.

Post-War Arrest and Imprisonment

After the surrender and dismantling of the collaborationist government in August 1945, Bao was arrested. He was sentenced to death in 1946, but the sentence was not carried out. He was later transferred to Taiwan.

Later Life and Death

Bao spent his remaining years in Taipei, where he died in 1980. His legacy remains a controversial one, with his actions during World War II drawing both condemnation and sympathy from historians.
