Barbara Ferreira was born on December 14, 1996, in Queens, New York, and later moved to Maywood, New Jersey. She attended Hackensack High School. Of Brazilian descent, Ferreira was raised by her mother, aunt, and grandmother. Her mother reportedly works as a chef. Ferreira began her career by submitting her photos to an open casting call for American Apparel. Since then, she has modeled for brands including Aerie, Adidas, Asos, Forever 21, H&M, Missguided, and Target.

Recognition and Acting Career

In 2016, Time magazine named Ferreira one of the "30 Most Influential Teens." She directed Dounia's music video "So Cool." Ferreira starred in the 10-episode etiquette series "How to Behave," for which she received a Webby Award. She also hosted the body positivity-themed series "Body Vogue Body Party."
