Biography of Barry Evans
Barry Evans, whose full name is Barry Joseph Evans, was born in Guildford, Surrey, England in 1943. His parents abandoned him at the hospital, and Barry never got to know their names. He spent most of his childhood in a boarding school called Fortescue House School, and later attended Bisley Boys' School in Surrey. Since early childhood, Evans loved being in the spotlight and often participated in school productions.

After finishing school, Barry received a scholarship from John Gielgud to attend the Central School of Speech and Drama, which is part of the University of London. In 1964, he made his first appearance on television screens in the series "Crossroads". A few years later, the talented actor played the role of Jamie McGregor in the low-budget film "Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush" directed by Clive Donner.

In 1969, Evans landed his first significant role in the comedy series "Doctor in the House", based on the novels by Richard Gordon. The show quickly gained popularity, and in 1971, filming for the second installment titled "Doctor At Large" began. Barry often expressed his enjoyment of working with the cast and crew, and later referred to his time on the series as the best years of his life.
In 1975, Evans appeared in the erotic comedy film "Adventures of a Taxi Driver", which was popular among audiences. A couple of years later, he participated in the filming of the comedy reality show "Mind Your Language". The set resembled a regular school classroom, where English was the second language for the students. Throughout the show, the students shared their guesses about the meanings of certain words or phrases, which often turned out to be funny and unexpected for most English-speaking countries. Despite the somewhat crude jokes and embarrassing situations, the show quickly gained popularity.
In 1982, Barry made an appearance in an episode of the series "Emery Presents". As he grew older, the actor noticed that his early roles began to "work against him", making it nearly impossible to find suitable roles for his age. Evans made his last on-screen appearance in 1993 in the film "The Mystery of Edwin Drood". It is known that in his later years, the actor worked as a taxi driver.
In February 1997, Barry Evans was found dead in his own car. The last person to see him was his friend, James Leadbitter, who became the primary suspect. However, the case was later closed due to lack of evidence. The cause of the actor's death remains a mystery to this day.
