Hungarian musicologist
A Hungarian musicologist, he graduated from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. Since 1977, he has been a teacher at the Academy, serving as its rector from 2004 to 31 October 2013. He holds a doctorate degree.
He currently continues to work as a professor at the Academy and as the Hungarian Government Commissioner for Classical Music.
Publications
He is the author of a book on Austro-Hungarian operetta entitled "Dream, Dream, Sweet Dream" (Hungarian: Álmod, álmod, édes álmod; 1992) and the co-author of a reference book entitled "Opera: Composers, Works, Performers" (2000, with Sigrid Neef).
