Bektursun Usenov: Kyrgyz Actor, Screenwriter, and Social Activist
Early Life and EducationBektursun Usenov was born on July 22, 1995, in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, as the fourth of five children. He attended Secondary School No. 85 in Bishkek and later graduated from the General Education College of the International University of Kyrgyzstan in 2012. In 2016, he earned a degree in Diplomatic and Consular Service from the Faculty of International Relations at the International University of Kyrgyzstan. He is also a graduate of the "School of Young Leaders of Kyrgyzstan" and the "Foundation of Progressive Initiatives" by Askar Salymbekov.
Television and KVN Projects
While studying at the International University of Kyrgyzstan, Usenov participated in various television projects, including the Regional KVN League "Ala-Too," "KVN KYRGYZSTAN," "Tamashow" ("Spectacle"), and "Ne Zhanilyk" ("Not News"). He was a member of the Asia MIX team in the 2018 Summer KVN Cup.
Film and Acting Career
Usenov began his film career with supporting roles in "Naparnikter" ("Partners"), "Plan B," "Ayil Kemp" ("Village Camp"), and "Konok" ("Guest"). He made his debut as a lead actor in 2020 in the TV series "Koshuanany Tandabai" ("Neighbors You Can't Choose") and the feature film "Altyn Koshuunalar" ("Golden Neighbors").
Screenwriting
Usenov has also written for television shows such as "Ne Zhanilyk," "Zharayt City" ("City of 'It'll Do'"), and "KVN."
Social Activism
Usenov is an active social activist and is the Chairman of the Model UN at the International University of Kyrgyzstan. He is also a member of the "School of Young Leaders of Kyrgyzstan" and the "Foundation of Progressive Initiatives."
Awards and Recognition
Usenov has received numerous awards for his work, including the "Best Actor" award at the "Kyrgyzstan-2018" International Film Festival and the "Best Actor" and "Best Screenwriter" awards at the "Golden Calf" Film Festival.
