Biography of Belén Rueda
Maria Belén Rueda García-Porrero was born on March 16, 1965, in Madrid, Spain. Her father was a civil engineer, and her mother was a ballet instructor. She was the second of three children in the family.

Early Life and Career
Belen moved with her family to San Juan, Alicante, when she was a child due to her younger sister's asthma problems. At the age of 18, she returned to Madrid to study architecture but dropped out of university after meeting a young man who later became her husband.

Television Career
In Madrid, Belen worked as a saleswoman and model before eventually becoming a television presenter. She then transitioned into acting and gained recognition for her role as Lucia Gomez Casado in the series "Los Serrano" ("The Serranos"). This opened up opportunities for her to appear in several films.
Personal Life
Belen married Daniel Écija and they had three children together. In 1994, she gave birth to a daughter named Belia, followed by Maria in 1996, and Lucia in 1998. Unfortunately, their second daughter passed away as an infant due to a heart defect. Belen is currently divorced.
Recognition and Film Career
Belen won the Goya Award in 2004 for her portrayal of Julia in the biographical drama "The Sea Inside" directed by Alejandro Amenábar. She was also nominated for a Goya Award for her role as Laura in the thriller "The Orphanage" directed by Juan Antonio Bayona in 2007.
She continued to work in various films and television series, including "Los ojos de Julia" (Julia's Eyes) in 2010, which was produced by Guillermo Del Toro. Belen's filmography also includes "Family Doctor," "7 Vidas," "Periodistas," "Retruc," "Savage Grace," "8 citas," "Spanish Movie," and "El mal ajeno."
As of December 2010, Belen was working on the drama film "No tengas miedo" (Don't Be Afraid), where she played the lead role.
