Born in 1950 in the town of Cagua, Aragua, Venezuela, Bella Mercedes La Rosa De La Rosa embarked on her modeling career with a triumph at the national Miss Venezuela pageant in 1970.
Pageant Success
On July 1, 1970, Bella La Rosa was crowned Miss Venezuela, succeeding former titleholder Marzia Piazza. Ten days later, she represented Venezuela at the Miss Universe 1970 pageant in Miami. Although she did not win the crown, which went to Puerto Rican Marisol Malaret, she impressed the judges by reaching the semifinals.
Education and Personal Life
Beyond her pageant achievements, Bella La Rosa pursued higher education and earned a law degree. Her personal life has included three marriages and three divorces.
