Early Life and Education
Behati Prinsloo, a Namibian supermodel, was born and raised in Grootfontein, Namibia. Her father, Boet Prinsloo, is a missionary and church minister, while her mother, Magda, ran a non-profit bed and breakfast.
As a child, Behati was an active and mischievous girl. Despite being in church, she would often scream and assert her dominance by declaring that it was her father's church and she could do as she pleased. She pursued gymnastics, athletics, and field hockey.
Discovery and Modeling Career
At the age of 15, Behati traveled to Cape Town for a holiday with her grandmother. It was there that she was spotted by renowned modeling scout and agency director, Sarah Doukas. Despite initial hesitation due to concerns about her father's reaction, Boet Prinsloo supported her decision to pursue modeling. Behati signed with a modeling agency and soon landed her first shoot in London.
Over the years, Behati has modeled for countless prestigious brands, including Chanel, Versace, Lacoste, Christian Dior, and Dolce&Gabbana. She made her Victoria's Secret debut in 2007 and became one of the brand's "Angels" in 2009. In 2012, she became the face of the swimwear brand, Seafolly.
Personal Life
In her personal life, Behati met British model Jamie Strachan when she was 16 years old and dated for seven years. After their breakup, she began a relationship with Adam Levine, the lead singer of Maroon 5. They married in July 2014 in a star-studded wedding in Mexico.
The couple welcomed their first daughter, Dusty Rose Levine, in September 2016. Three years later, they had their second daughter, Gio Grace Levine, in February 2018.
Current Life and Interests
Today, Behati resides in Los Angeles with her family and maintains close friendships with fellow models Candice Swanepoel and Lily Aldridge. She enjoys golf and has recently been accepted into a golf club.
In 2017, she and her husband purchased a 856-square-meter home in the upscale Holmby Hills neighborhood. However, they sold the property a few months later.
