Benjamin Becker is a professional German tennis player who has been active since 2005. Despite sharing the same last name with former world No. 1 tennis player Boris Becker, they are not related.

Early Life and Education

Born on June 16, 1981, Benjamin Becker grew up in Germany. He pursued his higher education in the United States and played tennis at the collegiate level before turning professional in 2005.

Professional Career

Throughout his career, Becker has achieved notable victories and earned over 1.5 million US dollars in prize money. He has won one ATP tournament and five Challenger titles.

One of Becker's most memorable moments came in 2006 during the third round of the US Open. He defeated the 36-year-old American tennis legend Andre Agassi with a score of 7-5, 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-5. This match marked Agassi's retirement from professional tennis.

In 2007, Becker made his debut for the German Davis Cup team but unfortunately lost both of his singles matches against the Croatian team. He was called up again in March 2010 for the Davis Cup tie against France, where he once again suffered defeat in both of his singles matches.
