Benjamin Folds, an American pop musician and leader of the music group "Ben Folds Five," was born on September 12, 1966, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA. Growing up in an ordinary American family, Benjamin's parents were blue-collar workers. He was introverted and shy as a child, constantly experiencing stress from the frequent moves his family made due to his father's job.

Early Musical Endeavors

At the age of 9, Benjamin began pursuing music, starting with the piano. He then took up drums and guitar. In school, he actively participated in various events, even forming his own bands and composing songs. In 1980, Folds created his first relatively serious music project, a group called "Majosha." They recorded several albums that were distributed among friends and acquaintances.

Emergence as a Musician

In 1988, Benjamin gained recognition at a student music festival, winning first place. This marked a turning point for him, solidifying his belief that his future lay in music.
