Benjamin Sadler is a German film actor who was born on February 12, 1971. He is the son of a German graphic designer and a British teacher. Sadler spent the first five years of his life in Canada before moving to Germany with his parents in 1976.

Education and Early Career

After completing his education at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, Sadler began his acting career in German thrillers "Wolffs Revier" and "SK-Babies". He also honed his craft by attending workshops with Stella Adler and Susan Batson in New York.

Notable Roles

Sadler's breakthrough came in 2001 when he appeared in the German-Italian film "Maria Magdalena" as the character of John the Baptist. This led to more prominent roles in religious films such as "Apokalypse" with Richard Harris and "Luther" with Joseph Fiennes and Peter Ustinov. In 2003, he portrayed the young Emperor Augustus in the film "Rimskaya Imperiya: Avgust".

Award-Winning Performance

In 2006, Sadler played the role of a doctor in the film "Dresden" and in 2007, he portrayed a lawyer and father of a daughter affected by thalidomide in the film "Contergan".
