Early Life and Education

Born on April 2, 1946, in Minsk, Beno Aksyonov moved to Chisinau, Moldova, where he attended several schools. From a young age, he excelled in sports, becoming the Moldovan champion in the 200 and 400-meter hurdles from 1963 to 1966.

In 1969, Aksyonov graduated from the acting department at the Gavriil Musicescu Institute of Arts in Chisinau. Under the tutelage of Natalya Aronetskaya, he concurrently pursued a specialized program at the Leningrad Institute of Theater, Music, and Cinematography.

Acting and Theater Career

Aksyonov's acting career began in 1969 at the Tiraspol Russian Drama Theater. In 1971, he joined the A.P. Chekhov Russian Drama Theater in Chisinau, where he worked as an actor and director until 2006.

Throughout his stage career, Aksyonov played over 200 roles. He also pursued directing, staging around 60 productions. His work earned him recognition and awards at international, national, and republican theater festivals.

Teaching and Directing

In addition to his theatrical pursuits, Aksyonov taught acting at the Musicescu Institute of Arts from 1971 to 1985 (with interruptions). In 1973, he studied in Moscow under the renowned theater director Maria Knebel.

In 2001, he graduated from the Moscow Academy of Art Workers' Retraining as a director under Pavel Chomsky. That same year, he completed an internship at the Moscow Mossovet Theater.

Later Years and Personal Life

Since 2007, Aksyonov has lived in Germany, where he continues his directing career.

He is married to Svetlana Dmitrenko, a doctor of sociology. He has a son, Vladislav, from his first marriage, who is a historian. His father, Max Fishman, was a composer and teacher at the Musicescu Institute of Arts. His mother, Lidia Aksyonova, is a choir conductor. His brother, Artur Aksyonov, is a pianist.
