Bill Goldberg, a former professional football player, wrestler, and actor, was born on December 27, 1966, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He played in the National Football League (NFL) for three seasons before his career was cut short due to an injury.
Wrestling Career
In 1997, Goldberg transitioned into professional wrestling and joined the World Championship Wrestling (WCW) tournament. From 1997 to 2001, he achieved an impressive winning streak of 173 victories. Throughout the following years, from 2001 to 2006, Goldberg made appearances in various wrestling competitions.
Acting Career
After retiring from wrestling, Goldberg focused on his acting career. He appeared in several films, including "Universal Soldier: The Return" (1999), "Ready to Rumble" (2000), "Looney Tunes: Back in Action" (2003), "The Longest Yard" (2005), "Santa's Slay" (2005), "The Kid & I" (2005), and "Half Past Dead 2" (2007).
Family and Personal Life
Goldberg's mother, Ethel, is a cellist, while his father, Jed, was a Harvard graduate and worked as an obstetrician and gynecologist (they are divorced). Jed passed away in late 2006. In addition to playing the cello, Ethel is an award-winning hybrid orchid breeder, with one orchid named after Goldberg.
Goldberg is of Jewish faith. His brother, Michael, owns a company that leases transportation planes, while his sister, Barbara, is involved in equestrian sports. His brother, Steven, owns several restaurants in San Diego, California, and Aspen, Colorado.
On April 10, 2005, Goldberg married Wanda Ferraton. They welcomed their son, A.J. Goldberg, on May 10, 2006.
