Biography of Billy Bush

Early Life and Education

Billy Bush, an American radio and television host, was born on October 13, 1971, in Los Angeles, California. He is the son of Josephine Bradley and Jonathan Bush. His father is a prominent banker, an active Republican, and the younger brother of the 41st President of the United States, George H.W. Bush. This makes Billy and his brother Jonathan nephews of the 41st President and cousins of the 43rd President, George W. Bush. Billy attended St. George's School, a private boys' boarding school in Rhode Island, before obtaining a bachelor's degree in international relations and management from Colby College in Waterville, Maine, in 1994. During his college years, he served as the captain of the college's men's lacrosse team.

Career in Media

Billy Bush began his career as a radio host for WLKZ-FM in New Hampshire, followed by hosting a midday show on WARW-FM in Washington, D.C. In March 1997, he joined WWZZ-FM (Z104) in Washington, D.C., as the host of "Billy Bush and the Bush League Morning Show." In January 2003, Billy made his transition to television as the host of the long-running game show "Let's Make a Deal," which has been airing on NBC since 1963. He also worked as a correspondent for the morning program "Today in New York." In December 2001, Billy joined the daily entertainment program "Access Hollywood" as their "man on the East Coast." In June 2004, he was promoted to one of the lead hosts, allowing him to cover major entertainment events such as the Golden Globes, Grammy Awards, Oscars, and Emmys. He also reported for NBC during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, and the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. In addition to his television work, Billy participated in the reality show "Grease: You're the One that I Want!" in 2007 and temporarily hosted "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" in April 2008. Currently, Billy has returned to radio with his own show, "The Billy Bush Show," which airs on Westwood One throughout the United States.

Philanthropic Work and Personal Life

Apart from his media career, Billy Bush is an ambassador for the non-profit medical organization "Operation Smile," which provides surgical procedures for children with cleft lips and palates around the world. He is married to Sydney Davis, whom he wed on April 4, 1998. They have three children together: Josie, Mary, and Lillie. Billy currently resides in Los Angeles.

Achievements and Recognition

Since 2003, Billy Bush has been one of the hosts of the Miss Universe beauty pageant. In July 2005, he was named one of the "10 Most Interesting Men" by Esquire magazine.
