Biography of Billy Kidman
Billy Kidman, an American wrestler, can be considered a mid-level wrestler. His career took off in the late 1990s and early 2000s. In recent years, he is only heard of in connection with local wrestling competitions outside the United States, following his divorce from well-known wrestler Torrie Wilson in 2007.
Billy Kidman, whose real name is Peter Gruner, was born on May 11, 1974, in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He had his first match at the age of 20 in 1994. He gained fame by participating in group matches representing World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment (WWF/E).
Billy Kidman's life is full of paradoxes. On one hand, he only achieved success as part of a team and rarely competed individually. On the other hand, he had a lot of determination and self-assurance, which made his character unbearable and complicated his interactions with people. Wrestlers, in general, have difficult personalities, but they are usually highly aggressive and have a habit of resolving issues through direct confrontations and fights. Billy Kidman struggled to fit into this world. He was accustomed to putting himself above others, often undeservedly. It is difficult to approach him at a party, as he does not openly express his dislike but can easily shower someone with a wave of cold contempt. Perhaps his challenging personality and inflated self-esteem hindered Billy Kidman from reaching greater heights in wrestling. Despite having numerous partners in the ring, he achieved his best results when paired with Rey Mysterio. In 2000, they won the WCW World Tag Team Championship in the Cruiserweight division.
In 2001, he suffered a severe injury that kept him away from the wrestling spotlight for many years.
In 2003, Billy Kidman married Torrie Wilson, which put him back in the public eye. Torrie is known for her passion for travel, which ultimately led to their divorce in 2007.
Recently, Billy Kidman has been participating in lower-tier fights or appearing in commercials. According to his own words, he made a big mistake when he decided to raise the price for his performances, tired of injuries. Many sports managers turned away from him, and he did not immediately realize that he should work for the prices that organizers are willing to pay. In wrestling, just like in any other sport, newcomers step on the toes of more mature athletes. Falling out of the spotlight for even a short period of time makes it very difficult to revive a career.
