Bobbie Lane
Biography of Bobby Lane
Bobby Lane is a British woman who has unfortunately become a victim of regular migraines and dizziness. After riding on American roller coasters or carousels - the faster ones, for adults - everyone experiences a slight dizziness, albeit temporarily. Usually, this feeling completely subsides within 5-10 minutes after getting off the ride. However, what happens if the strange sensations persist for hours, days, or even months?

After an unsuccessful ride on a fairground attraction, Bobby Lane vowed to never engage in such amusement activities again, as she suffered the consequences for a whole year. It is important not to imagine horrific scenes of roller coaster crashes like in "Final Destination" or out-of-control Ferris wheel incidents like in "Day Watch" - Lane only experienced severe dizziness. The carousel chosen by Bobby and her friends spun the individual cabins, lifting them into the air. Like most fairground attractions, this ride evoked both excitement and mild fear. Lane's friends, however, quickly recovered from the dizziness and the general inability to stand firmly on their feet. Lane, on the other hand, suffered from this dizziness for an entire year.
Lane did not wait a year to consult a doctor - she suspected something was wrong earlier. After visiting a general practitioner, Bobby was referred to a neurologist, who explained the nature of her problem. As it became clear later, Bobby became a victim of "balance disorder in the form of migraines." This condition can cause memory problems and sensations similar to severe drunkenness. Lane had already experienced migraines in the past, and the doctor quickly asked if she had recently engaged in extreme sports or any type of amusement park rides. Getting an affirmative answer, the doctor promptly made a fairly accurate diagnosis.
This ill-fated ride literally turned Bobby's life upside down, forcing her to quit her beloved job where she had worked for four years. In addition, Lane had to drastically revise her diet, as the list of prohibited foods for her was quite long. To control the perpetual dizziness, Lane had to give up alcohol, chocolate, citrus fruits, dairy products, bananas, and many other items. Bobby Lane still has to undergo a series of additional tests, during which the list of forbidden foods may significantly expand. She may have to test her compatibility with certain products that theoretically can provoke migraines - and possibly give them up. As Lane darkly jokes, the "necessity to give up food that can cause migraines can itself cause migraines." The list of forbidden foods is quite extensive and somewhat unusual - for instance, Bobby is advised against consuming creamy mayonnaise.
In general, migraines can be triggered by foods that are difficult to digest in one way or another. While Bobby is on her strange diet, doctors are trying to determine the primary stimulus and address it so that Lane can return to a normal life. However, for now, this remains a dream for her. Doctors constantly emphasize that the disease is completely curable and that Lane just needs to wait a little longer. Unfortunately, waiting has become quite tiresome for Bobby Lane, as her constant balance problems significantly complicate her life. With the help of physiotherapy, Lane has partially regained control over her own body, but to this day, she can unexpectedly stumble as if she were drunk. By the way, Bobby holds no blame towards the fatal fairground - she fully understands that nobody is to blame for what happened.
