Bodo Abel is a German scholar and professor at the University of Hamburg. He specializes in business management and international marketing. While methodology and rational approach are often considered secondary to the main field of study, Abel believes that the correct choice of methodology can prevent errors and simplify the research process. Education and Early Career
From 1968 to 1973, Abel studied at the University of Mannheim Business Administration. During this period, he became acquainted with marketing specialist Hans Raffée and critical rationalist Hans Albert. Under Albert's guidance, Abel developed a strong interest in the concepts and methodology of critical rationalism. He dedicated a significant amount of time to researching business management from a scientific methodology and critical rationalism perspective, resulting in a series of articles and books.

After completing his dissertation, Abel became an assistant professor at the marketing department under Hans Raffée. In 1982, he left the university and took on a management position at Gruner+Jahr AG & Co publishing house.
Academic Career
Abel returned to the field of education in 1994 and became the first professor of marketing at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg. A year later, he transitioned to the position of professor at the Hamburg University for Economy and Politics. In 1998, Abel launched an international master's program in business management, which included collaboration with the St. Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance.
Abel gained widespread recognition for his educational activities. He delivered lectures and conducted courses at renowned institutions such as the University of Hanover, University of Hamburg, East China University of Science and Technology, and Nanjing University.
