Early Life and Education

Born in 1885 in the Dendviin otog of the Manjushiri monastery (now Sergelen sum of Tuve aimag), Dosomyn Bodoo began his education at the Urga Mongol script school. He later served as a scribe for the Bogdo Gegen's Shabin Department and as an instructor at the Russian consular school of interpreters. Bodoo was proficient in Tibetan, Manchu, and Chinese languages.

Journalism and Political Involvement

In 1909, Bodoo became a proofreader for the "Mongolian News" newspaper, published in Harbin under Russian management of the CER. He later moved to Urga and co-founded the "New Mirror" newspaper with Ts. Zhamtsarano under the pseudonyms "Bo" and "Bold." Through this work, he developed contacts in the Russian community and became acquainted with Bolshevism.

Underground Resistance and the Birth of the MNP

Following the occupation of Mongolia in 1919 by Xu Shuzheng's army, Bodoo established an underground group in Urga called "Consular Hill." This group initially included Choibalsan, his Russian-speaking interpreter, and Chaгдаржав. In early 1920, Bodoo's group joined forces with Danzan's "Eastern Khurul" organization, forming the Mongolian People's Party (MNP).

Diplomatic Missions and Government Service

In August 1920, Bodoo traveled to Irkutsk with a letter from the Bogdo Khan requesting military assistance against the Chinese. He returned to Urga after securing an agreement for arms поставки. Bodoo played a key role in relaying information to the RSFSR, first about the Chinese garrison and later about Ungern-Sternberg's Asian Division.

On March 1, 1921, at the First Congress of the MNP, Bodoo was appointed Foreign Minister of the People's Government. He became Prime Minister on April 16, combining both positions. In September, he participated in the drafting of the Mongolian-Soviet Friendship Treaty and met with Lenin in the RSFSR.

Downfall and Assassination

Bodoo resigned as Prime Minister on January 7, 1922. Fearing his growing influence, Sukhe-Bator denounced Bodoo as an "enemy of the people," and he was executed.
