Early Life and Career
Bojan Djordjic, a Swedish footballer of Serbian descent, was born in Sweden. He began his professional career with the Swedish club Brommapojkarna.
Manchester United and Loans
In 1999, Djordjic joined the football academy of English club Manchester United. He was considered a promising player, winning the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award for under-18s. However, he only made two appearances for the first team.
Djordjic went on loan to Sheffield Wednesday, Aarhus, and Crvena Zvezda. It was at Crvena Zvezda that he scored his first goal in a UEFA Cup match against Danish club Odense in the 2003/04 season.
Rangers and Plymouth Argyle
After a brief stint with Rangers in Scotland, Djordjic joined Plymouth Argyle as a free agent at the end of the 2004/05 season. He was also courted by Swedish club AIK, whom he supported.
Djordjic's time at Plymouth was marred by disciplinary issues. He was transfer-listed in 2006 for his lackadaisical approach to training and matches. After making his return to the first team in 2006, he scored goals in three consecutive games.
Transfer to AIK
In 2007, Djordjic's contract with Plymouth was terminated by mutual consent. He signed a two-year deal with AIK in Sweden. His first season with AIK was hampered by injuries, forcing him to miss the end of the season.
