Boris Artashesovich Babayan: A Renowned Architect and Scientist

Born in Baku on December 20, 1933, Boris Artashesovich Babayan is an esteemed member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). As an architect and designer, he holds a distinguished career in computational technology.

Education and Career

Babayan obtained his engineering degree in physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MFTI) in 1957. He has since established a multifaceted role as a doctor of technical sciences, professor at MFTI, and member of the RAS.

As the scientific director of SPARC-Technologies Moscow Center, he leads the development of advanced computer architectures and designs microprocessors. His collaborative efforts span international partnerships and national commissions.

Contributions to Computer Architecture

As the general designer of the "Elbrus" family of supercomputers, Babayan's primary achievement lies in the creation of modern architecture, instruction sets, and software for high-performance microprocessors.
