Biography of Boris Barsky

Born in Ukraine, Boris Barsky is a renowned director, actor, and poet. He is best known for his involvement in the comedy troupe "Masques." Barsky graduated from the Odessa Polytechnic Institute in 1981, where he studied atomic energy. After working for three years in the Center for Standardization and Metrology, he discovered his passion for pantomime and began attending a pantomime studio while still working as an engineer.

Barsky's interest in pantomime soon turned into a professional pursuit, and he started touring extensively with renowned director and clown Polunin. He fondly remembers these collaborative trips and considers Polunin one of his teachers. Since 1984, Barsky has been one of the leading actors in the comedy troupe "Masques." He has appeared in all 80 episodes of the "Masques Show" and several films.

In addition to his work in comedy, Barsky has portrayed leading roles in theatrical productions such as "Romeo and Juliet," "Othello," "Night Symphony," and "Specially Married Taxi Driver." He has also participated in numerous television programs, including "Star Duo," "Patriots Games," and "Dancing with the Stars."

Barsky has shown his support for Ukrainian athletes by attending the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. He has been married to Natalia, his personal costume designer whom he met in the pantomime studio, since 1980. He has two children, Anastasia (born in 1983) and Konstantin (1984-2010).

In August 2009, Barsky was honored with the title of People's Artist of Ukraine. He is also a member of the Union of Cinematographers. Throughout his career, Barsky has made significant contributions to the entertainment industry, leaving a lasting impact on Ukrainian comedy.
