Born and Early Education
Boris Alexandrovich Lapitsky was born in Russia and studied law, earning a doctorate in jurisprudence. He became a professor specializing in civil and family law at Saratov University.
Professor at Demidov Legal Lyceum
In 1918, Lapitsky was a lecturer and later a professor at the Demidov Legal Lyceum in Yaroslavl, which had the status of a university. He taught Roman and civil law.
Dean of Yaroslavl State University
After the Demidov Lyceum was transformed into Yaroslavl State University in 1919, Lapitsky became the dean of the law and politics department from 1920 to 1921.
Emigration to Poland
In 1922, Lapitsky emigrated to Poland with his family, settling in 1923. He immediately resumed his academic pursuits.
Professor at Free Polish University
On the recommendation of Lev Petrazycki, Lapitsky joined the Free Polish University in Warsaw, where he held the chair of civil and Roman law. He also lectured at the university's Łódź branch, founded in 1928.
Academic Recognition and Promotion
In 1936/1937, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and National Education inspected the faculty of the Free Polish University. Lapitsky was awarded the title of full professor. In 1938, he became one of the university's vice-rectors.
Research Interests
Lapitsky's research focused on civil, inheritance, and family law. He also explored issues related to compensation for moral damages and reviewed publications on civil law.
