Early Life and Education
Nikolai Kolli (1903-1970) was born in Kostroma, Russia. In 1927, he graduated from the architecture faculty of Vkhutemas (Higher Institute for Art and Technology) in Moscow.
Architectural Career
Kolli participated in and won numerous architectural competitions. His designs included public buildings and Moscow Metro stations.

Kolli's most notable works include the Moscow Metro stations of:- Krasnoselskaya (1935)
- Aeroport (1938)
- Partizanskaya (1944)

In addition to his metro work, Kolli designed various other buildings, including:

- Saratov Circus (1931)- Club building in Tushino, Moscow
- Centrosoyuz Pavilion at VDNKh (1954)
- Projects for a canal in Ufa and pavilions for USSR exhibitions in various international cities
Personal Life and Legacy
Kolli's daughter married poet Igor Shaferan. He is buried in the Donskoye Cemetery in Moscow. His architectural legacy continues to inspire generations of architects.
