Early Life and Judo CareerBudewijn Zenden, a Dutch professional footballer, was born into a family of athletes. His father, Pierre Zenden, was a renowned judo athlete and sports broadcaster. Budewijn himself excelled in both football and judo as a child.
Football Career
In 1985, Zenden was scouted and signed by Dutch club MVV Maastricht. Two years later, he joined the youth academy of PSV Eindhoven. Zenden made his professional debut in 1991 and went on to represent the Netherlands 54 times, scoring 7 goals. He played in the 1998 World Cup and the 2000 and 2004 European Championships.
Concurrent Judo Accomplishments
Despite his successful football career, Zenden maintained his passion for judo. He earned a black belt at the age of 14 and became the Limburgan judo champion three times.
Personal Beliefs
Zenden has been a devout vegetarian since the age of 19. His commitment to healthy living and ethical choices has been a defining aspect of his life both on and off the field.
