Brenda Holloway was an American pop singer who quickly found success in the music industry. She was born in Atascadero, California in 1946 and was interested in music from a young age. Brenda sang in church choirs and played the violin. Along with her younger sister Patricia, Brenda had a passion for singing and they began performing together as a duo. At the age of 14, they made their first official recording.

While Patricia went on to become a pop star as part of the group "Pussycats," Brenda pursued a solo career. Her powerful and soulful voice, combined with her striking beauty, helped her make a name for herself in the industry. In 1964, Brenda caught the attention of Berry Gordy, the head of the American record label "Motown," with her rendition of Mary Wells' song "My Guy." Impressed by her talent, Gordy immediately offered her a contract.

It took twelve years for Brenda to make a comeback in the music industry. In 1980, she briefly returned to the music scene and then disappeared again. However, in 1988, she made a final return to music.
