Early Life and CareerBrian Edward Benben was born on June 18, 1956, in Winchester, Virginia, in a merchant family. At the age of 17, Brian packed his bags and moved to New York in pursuit of his dreams. He soon began performing in theatrical shows, both new and classic, including Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream." It was here that he honed his acting talent, collaborating with directors such as Eugene O'Neill, Wolf Mankowitz, John O'Keeffe, and others.

Rise to Fame
In 1981, Brian made his television debut as gangster Michael Lasker in the TV series "Gangster Chronicles." It was on the set of this show that he met his future wife, actress Madeleine Stowe, who played the gangster's wife. In the same year, a feature film version of the series, "The Gangster Chronicles," was released. Throughout the next five years, Benben actively acted in TV series and performed in Broadway productions during breaks between filming. He appeared in a dozen TV series during the 1980s, with a notable recurring role in the series "Kate O'Brien."

Breakthrough Role in "Dream On"
In the early 1990s, Brian was cast in the lead role of the comedy TV series "Dream On." The show quickly gained a dedicated fan base, received positive reviews from critics, and achieved high ratings.
