Woman Who Suffered from Obesity Undergoes Stomach Operation
32-year-old Brittani Fulfer, who has been suffering from obesity, was afraid that her husband would feel disgust towards her if he saw her naked. The woman decided to undergo a surgery that would help her lose weight. However, she now regrets her decision because she no longer feels joy from eating.

Brittani Fulfer, a 32-year-old woman suffering from obesity, recently underwent a life-saving stomach operation. Weighing 605 pounds (approximately 275 kg), she doubted whether she made the right decision to undergo the surgery as she no longer experiences pleasure from food. In an episode of the reality show "My 600lb Life" on the TLC channel, Brittani confessed that she constantly thinks about food, and even bathing independently has become a challenge due to her size. However, when the young woman lost 63 pounds (almost 30 kg), it turned out that she doubts the correctness of her decision to have the operation. "Every new day seems to be getting harder. Everything has changed now," she says in a video clip from the television show. "I am confused. I can no longer enjoy food. Moreover, it is even difficult to force myself to eat."
Brittani Fulfer had been preparing for the surgical intervention for almost three years. She started raising funds for the operation online in 2013, aiming to collect $35,000. On her webpage, she shared that she has been struggling with excess weight her whole life and has tried several diets, but all in vain. Additionally, Brittani has health problems, including Hashimoto's disease (a chronic thyroid gland disorder). At the age of 19, she discovered that she had thyroid cancer. Despite her plea for help, the fundraising was closed when she had only accumulated $230.
When Brittani appeared on the television show, she confessed that things had only gotten worse for her. She couldn't remember a day when she woke up without feeling pain. "Every cell in my body hurts. Sometimes, I don't even want to live. I look in the mirror and realize that the human body should not look like this. I think it is the most disgusting sight in the world. Soon, there may come a time when I will not be able to take care of myself independently," Brittani reveals. Taking a shower became a difficult ordeal for her. The young woman cannot undress in front of her husband, fearing that he will be horrified and never look at her the same way again. Thus, Brittani tries to be unnoticed. She spends 6-8 hours a day on the couch and only gets up to eat. Before the surgery, Brittani thought about food non-stop, from the moment she woke up until the evening. Now, her passion for food has subsided, and she has to force herself to consume the necessary amount of calories allocated for the day. "Eating no longer brings pleasure, and everything tastes disgusting," she admits. Brittani doubts that the surgical intervention was truly necessary. "If it had to be done to survive, I'm not sure it was worth it," she says.
