Early Life and Education

Bruce Beresford-Redman was born and raised in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, where he attended high school with fellow future show creator Rick Hurvitz. He went on to pursue higher education at New College of Florida in Sarasota, Florida.

"Pimp My Ride" Success

Beresford-Redman co-created and served as executive producer for the popular MTV show "Pimp My Ride." The show premiered on March 4, 2004, and ran until December 30, 2007, becoming a worldwide phenomenon. Despite no longer being involved in the show, it continues to be a fan favorite with reruns.

Wife's Death and Legal Troubles

In April 2010, Beresford-Redman's wife, Monica, was found dead at the Moon Palace resort in Cancun, Mexico, where the family was vacationing. Bruce was detained for questioning but was released the following morning on the condition that he remain in Mexico.

An eyewitness later came forward with information about an argument between Bruce and Monica on April 4. Authorities also discovered that Beresford-Redman had been seen with scratches on his body. The cause of Monica's death was initially unclear, and no further charges were filed.

On April 9, it was revealed that Monica had been strangled. Her body was found hidden in a drainage pipe near the couple's bungalow. On May 31, Mexican authorities issued an arrest warrant for Beresford-Redman, suspecting him of his wife's murder.

Extradition and Trial

Beresford-Redman was arrested in Los Angeles on November 16, 2010, based on a warrant issued by Mexico. Federal marshals took him into custody, and extradition proceedings began.

Beresford-Redman eventually faced trial in Mexico and was found guilty of killing his wife. He was sentenced and remains incarcerated in Mexico.
