Bruno Conti, an Italian former footballer, was born on March 13, 1955, in Nettuno, Italy. He grew up in a large family with five siblings and developed a passion for both football and baseball. Conti began his career as a player for local clubs, including "Nettuno" and "Anzio," before pursuing his dream of playing professional football.

At the age of 17, Conti went for a trial at the club "Sambenedettese," and later at "Bologna," but he did not impress the coaches. However, in 1972, he finally caught the attention of AS Roma and started playing for their youth team. Conti had to commute from Nettuno to Rome every day, enduring a long and tiring journey. After a year, he was allowed to live in the team's dormitory in Ostia.

On February 10, 1974, Conti made his debut for AS Roma's first team in a match against Torino. In his first game, he won a penalty for his team, although it was not converted. Conti's career took a turn when he was loaned out to Genoa in 1975 to gain more experience. He became a key player for Genoa and was even named the best young player in Serie B. After his loan spell, Conti returned to AS Roma and became a regular in the first team.

During his time at AS Roma, Conti won six Coppa Italia titles and helped the team win the Serie A championship in 1983 after a 21-year gap. The following season, AS Roma reached the final of the European Cup but lost to Liverpool. Conti had a pivotal moment in the penalty shootout, where he missed his shot. Despite this disappointment, Conti continued to be a valuable player for AS Roma.

In the late 1980s, Conti started losing his place in the team and eventually retired in 1991. He played his farewell match in front of 80,000 spectators. Conti also represented the Italian national team from 1980 to 1986. He scored a goal against Peru in the 1982 FIFA World Cup and played a crucial role in defeating Brazil and Germany in the same tournament.

After retiring as a player, Conti worked with the youth teams of AS Roma and opened a football school in Nettuno in 1996. In 2005, he briefly managed the senior team of AS Roma, leading them to the final of the Coppa Italia and qualifying for the UEFA Cup.

Currently, Conti serves as the sporting director of AS Roma and is involved in the development of young talents within the club. He is also the proud father of two sons, Daniele and Andrea, who have followed in his footsteps and become footballers themselves.
