Burt Young
Burt Young is an American actor, artist, and writer. He is best known for his role as Paulie, the brother-in-law and best friend of Sylvester Stallone's character in the "Rocky" film series. Young was born Gerald Tommaso DeLouise on April 30, 1940, in Queens, New York. He studied under Lee Strasberg, one of his early acting teachers.

Role in "Rocky"
Young gained fame for his portrayal of rough Italian-American working-class characters, with his most notable example being Paulie in the "Rocky" films. His performance as Paulie not only brought Young recognition but also earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Young is one of only four actors to appear in all the "Rocky" films.

Other Roles
Aside from the "Rocky" series, Young has had a diverse range of roles in films such as "Chinatown," "Convoy," "Back to School," "The Pope of Greenwich Village," "Once Upon a Time in America," "Last Exit to Brooklyn," and "Downtown: A Street Tale." He has also appeared in various television series, including "The Rockford Files," "Baretta," "Law & Order," "Walker, Texas Ranger," "M*A*S*H," and "Miami Vice."

Art and Writing Career
In addition to his acting career, Young is also known as an artist. His paintings have been exhibited in galleries and museums worldwide. He collaborated with writer Gabriele Tinti on projects such as the cover design for the poetry collection "All Over" and illustrations for the art book "A Man." Young has also tried his hand at writing, having written two screenplays, a 400-page historical novel titled "Endings," and two plays: "SOS" and "A Letter to Alicia and the New York City Government From a Man With a Bullet in His Head."
Recent Work
Young continues to act and has appeared in recent films such as "Rocky Balboa" (2006), "New York, I Love You" (2008), "Win Win" (2011), and "Rob the Mob" (2014). He frequently takes on roles in Italian projects, both in film and television, notably in "Il nascondiglio," "Ci vediamo domani," and the series "Baciamo le mani - Palermo New York 1958." Young was previously married to Gloria, who passed away in 1974, and he has one daughter named Anne Morea. He currently resides in Port Washington, New York.
