Callum Hudson-Odoi: A Rising Star in English Football

Callum Hudson-Odoi is a talented winger currently playing for Nottingham Forest in the English Premier League. He began his football journey at Chelsea's youth academy.

Club Career

Early Success at Chelsea

In the summer of 2017, with interest from Juventus and Benfica, Hudson-Odoi signed a three-year contract with Chelsea. He made his debut for the Blues on January 28, 2018, against Newcastle United in the FA Cup. By the end of the season, he had made three more appearances but failed to score or assist.

Breakout Season

On November 29, 2018, Hudson-Odoi netted his first goal for Chelsea in a Europa League group stage match against PAOK. He became a regular in the team from early 2019, primarily as a substitute. However, on April 22, 2019, he suffered an Achilles injury that ruled him out for the remainder of the season.

Contract Extension and Injury

Hudson-Odoi signed a new five-year contract with Chelsea on September 19, 2019, reportedly earning £120,000 per week. However, his progress was hampered by a COVID-19 infection in March 2020, forcing him into quarantine along with several other Chelsea players and staff.

Departure to Nottingham Forest

After recovering from injury, Hudson-Odoi played a limited role in Chelsea's first team. On September 1, 2023, he joined Nottingham Forest on a three-year deal, marking a new chapter in his career.

International Career

Hudson-Odoi's international journey began with the England U16 team in 2016. He progressed to the U17s and played in both the 2017 European Championship (where England reached the final) and World Cup.

In March 2019, he received his first senior team call-up for matches against the Czech Republic and Montenegro. His debut came in the Euro 2020 qualifier against the Czech Republic, making him the youngest player to ever start a competitive match for England at 18 years and 135 days.
