Biography of Camilo Sesto

Camilo Sesto, whose real name is Camilo Blanes Cortés, was born in 1946 in the coastal city of Alcoy, Alicante, Spain. As a child, Camilo often amazed his parents with his vocal abilities, and his interest in singing only grew stronger as he grew older. In the 1960s, Camilo was already singing in several bands and performing small concerts in bars and restaurants.

Camilo suddenly became popular thanks to his participation in a popular musical television show, where he emerged as the ultimate winner after several tours. Around the same time, he also appeared in a Spanish adaptation of the legendary Shakespearean tragedy, 'Hamlet'.

In the early 1970s, Camilo moved to Los Angeles, California, and immediately began studying English. However, he remained relatively unknown in America until he participated in the filming of the famous rock opera 'Jesus Christ Superstar' directed by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Within a few years, Camilo's songs such as 'Algo de mí' (Something of me), 'Amor...Amar' (Love... to love), '¿Quieres ser mi amante?' His songs received positive reviews and emotional responses from both listeners and music critics.

In September 2009, Camilo announced to journalists that he would give a series of farewell concerts around the world, including visits to Latin America, the United States, Chile, Canada, and many other countries.
