Biography of Cansu Dere
Cansu Dere was born on October 14, 1980, in Ankara. From childhood, she dreamed of becoming a ballerina, but this dream remained just a dream. After completing her primary education in Izmir, Cansu decided to pursue an unusual profession - archaeology. She obtained her higher education at Istanbul State University.

In 2000, Cansu secured the third place in the Kanal D Miss Turkey Beauty Contest. Following this achievement, she became a professional model and participated in fashion shows in Paris and Milan. In a very short period, she became one of the highest-paid models in Turkey and appeared in various television programs.

Cansu began her acting career in 2002, starring in films and television shows. In 2003, she had a small role in the series "Twilight," where she acted alongside Kenan Imirzalioglu for the first time. In 2004, she played a comedic role in the series "Metro Palace." In 2005, Cansu gained recognition for her role as Jeylan in the series "Autumn Fire," portraying a girl with a severe psychological trauma. Many consider these two roles as the turning point in her acting career.

In 2006, Cansu's luck turned when director Gul Ogun started preparations for his new series, "Sila: The Return Home." After several auditions, Cansu landed her first leading role in a television series. "Sila: The Return Home" (filmed from 2006 to 2008) became immensely popular and led to the construction of schools, hospitals, and cultural centers in Mardin. This role firmly established Cansu as one of the popular Turkish actresses.
Simultaneously with "Sila," Cansu also played the lead role in the historical film "The Last Ottoman: Yandim Ali" in 2006, where she starred opposite Kenan Imirzalioglu. The film received warm reviews from critics and audiences. In her interviews, Cansu admitted that 2006 was her breakthrough year.
After completing "Sila," Cansu portrayed a blind girl in the film "Bitter Love" alongside Halit Ergenc, which became the highest-grossing Turkish film in 2009 and received accolades from critics and viewers. From 2009 to 2010, she starred in the popular series "Ezel" alongside Kenan Imirzalioglu. "Ezel" became the best-selling series, won numerous awards, and achieved the highest ratings in multiple European countries. Cansu was nominated for the "Ismail Cem Television Awards 2010" (Turkish Oscar) as Actress of the Year for her role as Eysan.
After "Ezel," Cansu became one of the highest-paid actresses in Turkey. In 2011, she received a new role in the film "Behzat C.: I Tore Your Heart Out." In 2012, she played the lead role in the film "Signature," which received high praise from viewers and critics. At the end of 2012, she joined the cast of "Magnificent Century," where she portrayed a Persian concubine and competed for the heart of Sultan Suleiman.
Cansu has been the face of Avon and Magnum brands. Since 2012, she has been the first Turkish actress chosen as a spokesperson for the renowned brand Loreal Paris. Cansu adores photography and showcases her professional work on Instagram. She has received multiple offers to open her personal exhibition in Istanbul but has declined so far. Her second passion is traveling, and her ultimate dream is to visit every corner of the world.
In her personal life, Cansu dated comedian and actor Cem Yilmaz for 6.5 years, but the couple parted ways in August 2011.
