In the 1990s, Mazzacurati directed and wrote screenplays for several notable films, including "Il toro" (1994), which won him the Silver Lion award at the Venice Film Festival. His close ties to the festival continued as he participated in screenings and served as a jury member for many years. Another acclaimed work of his was "A cavallo della tigre" (2002), a remake of a 1961 film.

Notable Works and Recognition
Mazzacurati's 2007 drama "La giusta distanza" was selected for the Rome Film Festival and nominated for multiple Silver Ribbon awards, including Best Film and Best Screenplay, written by Mazzacurati himself. Legacy and Inspiration
Mazzacurati was renowned for writing screenplays for all his films, which also included documentaries. His last documentary project was "Sei Venezia" in 2010. Tragically, Mazzacurati's promising career was cut short when he passed away on January 22, 2014, at the age of 57, after a battle with an undisclosed illness. He left behind a legacy of critically acclaimed films and remains a significant figure in Italian cinema.
