Carlos Cáceda: Peruvian Goalkeeping Prodigy

Early Life and Career

Born in Lima, Peru, Carlos Cáceda began his football career with Universitario's youth academy, where he demonstrated exceptional goalkeeping abilities. His lightning-fast reflexes and commanding presence in front of net earned him a call-up to the victorious 2010/2011 Copa Libertadores U-20 squad.

Professional Debut

In 2011, Cáceda made his professional debut with Alianza Atlético de Sullana in the Peruvian Primera División. However, his playing time was limited, and he soon transferred to Universitario.

Rise with Universitario

Cáceda initially played a backup role at Universitario. But his performances with the youth team, which won the 2011 Copa Libertadores U-20, caught the attention of the first-team manager. He eventually made his senior debut in 2011, keeping a clean sheet against Ayacucho FC.

National Team Debut

In November 2012, Cáceda received his first call-up to the Peruvian national team. However, he did not participate in the friendly match against Honduras.
