In 1947, Jones moved to California, where she began working in the Pasadena Playhouse. She made her film debut in 1952 after signing a contract with Paramount Pictures. Her first notable role was as Cathy Gray in the film "House of Wax" in 1953. She went on to star in films such as "The Seven Year Itch" (1955), "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" (1956), and "The Man Who Knew Too Much" (1956).
