Biography of Cassandra Ventura
Cassandra Ventura, better known by her stage name Cassie, is an American model, actress, and singer. She was born in New London, Connecticut, and her father was of Filipino descent while her mother had Mexican, African, and Indian roots. Due to her diverse heritage, Cassandra always attracted attention.

Early Career
At the age of 14, Cassandra began her modeling career at Wilhelmina Models agency. She quickly gained recognition and appeared in advertising campaigns for major brands such as Adidas, Delia, Seventeen, and Abercrombie & Fitch. Her face even graced a billboard in Times Square during a Target campaign. Despite her success, Cassandra decided to forgo college and pursue a career in the modeling industry.

Move to New York
In order to further her career, Cassandra moved to New York City. While working as a model for Abercrombie & Fitch, she also enrolled in the Broadway Dance Center. It was during this time that she met Sean Combs' makeup artist, who introduced her to producer Ryan Leslie. Ryan recognized Cassandra's talent and encouraged her to pursue singing. On her mother's birthday, Cassandra performed the song "Kiss Me," which she had recorded under Leslie NextSelection label.

Musical Success
Cassandra's debut single, "Me & U," became an instant hit. It topped the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart, reached third place on the Billboard Hot 100, and fourth place on the Billboard Pop 100. Encouraged by her success, she signed a contract with Sean Combs' label, Bad Boy Records, and released her self-titled debut album in August 2006. However, the album failed to replicate the success of her single.
Challenges and Second Album
Following a few lackluster performances and mixed reviews, Cassandra faced criticism. Nonetheless, Sean Combs defended her and took on the role of her boyfriend and personal stylist. In 2007, rumors circulated that Cassandra would leave Bad Boy Records and collaborate with Kanye West and Pharrell Williams on her second album, titled "Electro Love." However, these rumors proved to be false, and her second album was released in early 2009 under Bad Boy Records.
Acting and Controversy
In February 2008, Cassandra made her acting debut in the film "Step Up 2 the Streets." Although the movie received mixed reviews, it was a commercial success, grossing over $144 million worldwide. Cassandra also recorded the soundtrack for the film with the song "Is It You." In April 2009, she shocked fans and colleagues by shaving half of her head, explaining that she desired a change. Additionally, private nude photos of Cassandra were leaked online in May 2009, leading to widespread media attention. Despite claiming that her computer was hacked, some speculated that it was a publicity stunt.
