Cecil Kimber was an English constructor and entrepreneur known for his significant contributions to the automobile industry. He was born on April 12, 1888, in London and attended Stokford Grammar School for his education.

Early Career

In 1915, at the age of 27, Kimber entered the automotive business and started working as a sales manager for Morris Garages - MG. By the early 1920s, he had become the sales manager of the company. During his time at MG, Kimber actively participated in the creation of the first automobiles with special MG bodywork on standard Morris chassis, such as the "Morris Oxfords" and "Cowleys." He also played a significant role in the development of the "Morris Sport" car.

Director of MG

In 1930, MG became a limited liability company, and Cecil Kimber was appointed as its managing director. Thanks to his efforts, MG transformed into the most renowned British manufacturer of sports cars.
