Biography of Cédric Carrasso

Cédric Carrasso is a French professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Galatasaray.

Early Career

Born in Avignon, France, Carrasso started his career with local club Avignon Football. In 1999, he joined Marseille, but failed to break into the first team.

Loan Spells

In 2001, Carrasso was loaned out to Crystal Palace in England, where he struggled to make an impact. In 2004, he joined Guingamp on loan, where he played regularly.

Return to Marseille

Upon his return to Marseille, Carrasso faced competition from Fabien Barthez. After Barthez's departure, Carrasso became the first-choice goalkeeper.

Injury and Setback

In 2007, Carrasso suffered a serious injury in training, which sidelined him for six months. This allowed Steve Mandanda to establish himself as Marseille's starting goalkeeper.

Transfer to Toulouse

In 2008, Carrasso joined Toulouse for a fee of €2.5 million. He spent one season with the club before attracting interest from Bordeaux.

Move to Bordeaux

In 2009, Carrasso signed a four-year contract with Bordeaux for a transfer fee of €8 million. He played for the club until 2012, making over 100 appearances.
