Early Life and Career
Kes Koster (born January 8, 1986) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Oss. Born in Volendam, Koster began his football career at local club RKAV Volendam. He later joined the youth academy of Volendam before being scouted by Ajax in 2001.
Ajax Academy
Koster spent five years in Ajax's youth academy, playing alongside future professionals such as Luis Suarez and Gregory van der Wiel. In 2005, he signed a two-year contract with the club's second team.
Professional Debut and Injury
In 2007, Koster signed a professional contract with Vitesse. He made his Eredivisie debut in August 2007 but suffered a season-ending knee injury in only his second match.
Loan to Zwolle
After recovering from his injury, Koster joined Zwolle on loan in January 2009. He quickly became a regular for the Eerste Divisie club, playing 14 league matches and three playoff games.
Permanent Move to Zwolle
Following the expiration of his loan, Koster signed a one-year contract with Zwolle. He continued to be a key player for the club, making 34 league appearances during the 2009-10 season.
Oss
In July 2010, Koster joined Oss. He has made over 100 appearances for the club, becoming a fan favorite and helping them achieve promotion to the Eerste Divisie in 2012.
