Origins
Inspired by his literary talent, young Leonid Kozlov (stage name: Leon Dolsky) sought to create music based on his poetry. He invited guitarists Alexander Bernyakovich and Alexei Lubyany to his home, sharing his lyrics with them. The idea of forming a band was born. Sasha contributed melodies to Leon's lyrics, resulting in the band's initial songs, "Flying to Success" and "About Us."
Expanding the Lineup
As the band progressed, they realized the need for a full lineup, including a rhythm section. After unsuccessful attempts to recruit a drummer and bassist, a breakthrough occurred on November 12, 2003. Yaroslav Ignatovsky, a multi-talented musician, contacted Sasha Bernyakovich. Yaroslav had recently left a band due to disagreements, and he was eager to start anew. He was accepted into the group as a bassist and vocalist, sharing the role with Bernyakovich.
Finding a Rehearsal Space
The band faced challenges finding a suitable rehearsal space. After brief stints at Lenfilm and Vasilyevsky Island, they settled at the Polygonovsky studio, where Sasha Nevsky (Solaris) provided assistance. Konstantin, a drummer from the band "Vertical Horizon," offered to help them temporarily. With this lineup complete, the band composed and rehearsed numerous songs, including "Long Autumn," "Spring Arrives," and "My Catechism."
Live Debut and Momentum
On February 15, 2004, the band received their first opportunity to perform live at Club "Manhattan" for Valentine's Day. Despite some technical difficulties and nervousness, the band delivered an energetic performance that impressed the audience. They were subsequently invited to play as an opening act for "Koshki Jam" at Club "Orlandina."
Evolution and Growth
The band's momentum continued to build, fueled by the addition of Alexey "Ryzhy" Maximov as their manager. In March, they found a new drummer, Maxim Petrov, an 18-year-old who brought both experience and talent to the group. Yaroslav emerged as the band's frontman, while Sasha Bernyakovich left to form his own band. His brother, Denis, replaced him on bass, while Yaroslav assumed the role of lead guitarist.
Success and Recognition
The band performed at renowned venues such as "Pyatnitsa," "Stary Dom," "Front," "Legenda," and "Orlandina," gaining critical acclaim. Their unique blend of melody, powerful lyrics, and energetic live shows established them as a rising force in the rock scene.
