Childhood and Adolescence

Ceren Moray was born on June 5, 1985, in Diyarbakır, a city in southeastern Turkey. She was the only child of civil servants. Soon after her birth, her family relocated to Istanbul. In interviews, Moray has described her childhood as a challenging time, as she was withdrawn and shy. Her parents were constantly working, leaving her to her own devices.

Education and Early Career

From an early age, Moray found solace in the arts. She graduated from Pera Fine Arts High School and went on to study acting at Halic University in 2005. According to Moray, her low self-esteem and feelings of loneliness drew her towards acting.

Over time, Moray's relationship with her parents improved. She has stated in interviews that she now speaks to them up to seven times a day. They have grown close and rely on each other for support.

Film and Television Projects

Moray's acting career began in 2003 with a small role in the television series "On Last Breath." In 2004, she appeared as Simge in the comedy "Uncle." A year later, she landed a major role in the teen drama "Breathless."

In the years that followed, Moray played supporting roles in various projects, including "Doctors" (2007-2008), "Dreamers" (2007-2011), and "Cases" (2012-2013).

Breakthrough with "That's My Life"

A pivotal moment in Moray's career came with the premiere of the television series "That's My Life" in 2014. She played the ambitious Efsun, who pretends to be the daughter of a wealthy and influential man.

Success with "The Courtyard" and "The Teacher"

From 2018 to 2019, Moray starred in "The Courtyard," a show about female prisoners. Her character, Azra, is one of several unjustly imprisoned women who seek to clear their names. The series was a critical and commercial success in Turkey.

In 2020, Moray appeared in "The Teacher," an adaptation of the Japanese series "Z"A" Class, From Now On You're Hostages." The show follows a high school teacher who instigates a hostage situation to investigate the suicide of one of his students. Moray portrayed Zeynep, the teacher's fiancée, who tries to help him avoid making mistakes.

Other Notable Works

Moray has also appeared in feature films, such as "Eylule's Little Trouble" (2014), "Encore" (2015), and "Untouched Love" (2016). In the latter, she played the lead female role, Feriyal, who pines after a handsome man named Zafer.

Personal Life

In 2017, Moray married Nicolas Brun, a French cognac connoisseur. The couple met on vacation in Spain. They initially lived in France before separating in 2022 after five years of marriage.

In 2022, Moray began dating Dogu Orcan, a DJ and owner of the Play Tuşları agency. At first, they denied being in a relationship, but later confirmed it through social media posts. The couple travels together frequently and shares photos of their adventures in France, Italy, and other destinations.

Current Projects

Moray stars in "Dirty Laundry," a Turkish drama that premiered on the START streaming service on March 26, 2024. She plays Hayriye, a maid in a wealthy household whose tragic suicide sets off a chain of events.
