Cesare Bonizzi, known by his stage name Fratello Metallo, was born in Italy in 1946. He entered the Capuchin Order in 1975 and was subsequently sent as a missionary to Ivory Coast.

Music and Mission:

Despite his monastic vows, Bonizzi retained a passion for music and studied vocal performance professionally. Initially, he sang only for himself in light genres like New Age. However, after attending a Metallica concert in 1990, he was inspired to merge heavy metal's energy with his sermonizing.

Fratello Metallo: Metal Preacher

Band Formation and Albums:

Bonizzi assembled a backing band and created the musical project Fratello Metallo. The group has released nine albums to date, including an opening performance at Italy's largest rock festival, Gods of Metal, in 2008.

Lyrical Content:

Fratello Metallo's songs are rhyming sermons that denounce drugs, violence, and other societal ills. Bonizzi's lyrics reflect his deep religious convictions and challenge listeners to reflect on their own actions.
