Early Life and TrainingBorn in Lausanne, Switzerland, Charles Dutoit commenced his musical education in violin, piano, and conducting. He graduated with honors from the Geneva Conservatory, where he studied under eminent conductor Charles Munch.
Orchestral Career
In the late 1950s, Dutoit honed his skills as a violinist with various symphony orchestras. From the 1960s onward, he assumed leadership roles with renowned orchestras globally, including:
