Charlotte "Charline" Labonté: A Hockey Legend
Early CareerCharline Labonté, a renowned Canadian goaltender, began her hockey journey in 1999-2000 with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). This marked only the second time a female player had competed in a Canadian Hockey League (CHL) men's competition.
Olympic Glory
Labonté's exceptional talent shone through at three Olympic Games (2006, 2010, and 2014), resulting in three consecutive gold medals for Canada. In Turin 2006, she appeared in three games, including the thrilling final against Sweden, where she emerged as the tournament's top goaltender in both save percentage and goals-against average.
International Dominance
Beyond her Olympic achievements, Labonté also claimed two World Championships (2007, 2012). In 2009, she was crowned the best goaltender at the World Championships in Finland, despite Canada's second-place finish.
Personal Life
Off the ice, Labonté resides in Montreal, Quebec. She graduated from McGill University with a degree in Physical Education in 2011.
