Birth and Early LifeCharles Calogero Palminteri was born on May 15, 1952, in the Bronx's Little Italy neighborhood of New York City. Raised in an Italian-American community, his father was a bus driver.

Acting Breakthrough
Palminteri's career took off after the release of the 1990 film "A Bronx Tale." He not only starred alongside Robert De Niro in the crime drama but also co-wrote the screenplay.

Palminteri established himself as a versatile actor with acclaimed performances in "The Usual Suspects" (1995) and "Bullets Over Broadway" (1994). For his role as Cheech in the latter, he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
