Biography of Chelsea Hightower
Chelsea Hightower, an American-born Latin American ballerina, is a nominee for the 'Emmy' award. She was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, and grew up in Orem, Utah. Hightower began dancing and studying the art of dance at the age of 9, completing her training at the age of 14. At the age of 11, she won her first national-level competition. For some time, Chelsea performed in musical theaters across the country. In 2005, she became a finalist in the 'U.S. Worlds' competition and joined the U.S. national team. The world finals took place in Blackpool, England, where the U.S. team finished in 3rd place. After graduating from high school, Hightower enrolled at Utah Valley University.

Television Career
Chelsea's television career began with her participation in the reality show 'So You Think You Can Dance.' She partnered with Mark Kanemura and left the show on July 31, 2008. She then appeared as a professional dancer in the 8th season of 'Dancing with the Stars,' paired with nine-time world rodeo champion Ty Murray. They finished in 4th place overall on May 12, 2009. The following year, Hightower worked with professional snowboarder Louie Vito but was eliminated in the sixth week, finishing in 8th place. In the 10th season, she partnered with Jake Pavelka from the reality show 'The Bachelor,' but they only reached 7th place. In the 11th season, Chelsea left the show in the second week, dancing with Michael Bolton.

Additional Endeavors
Chelsea Hightower recently appeared in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Winter 2010 issue, where she posed in a swimsuit alongside three other couples from 'Dancing with the Stars.' In July 2010, she was nominated for an 'Emmy' for her dance 'Paso Doble/Malagueña' choreographed and performed with Derek Hough for DWTS. She has also performed with Jewel, a singer, songwriter, and Ty Murray's wife, at a concert celebrating Jewel's new hit 'Hands.' In addition to her dancing career, Hightower has launched her own clothing line, available in stores such as 'Sugar' and 'Bruno,' and a cosmetics line under the brand 'Cliche Cosmetics.'
