The Birth of Jia Jia, the Ultra-Realistic Female Robot
On April 15, 2016, the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) unveiled a stunning female robot named Jia Jia, leaving the world in awe.

Jia Jia: A Lifelike Creation
Jia Jia is an anthropomorphic robot designed to resemble a real woman. She greets visitors with head tilts and boasts the ability to communicate, thanks to her advanced artificial intelligence. Her detailed features, including rosy cheeks and flowing hair, contribute to her captivating presence.
The Team Behind Jia Jia
Professor Chen Xiaoping led the USTC team responsible for Jia Jia's creation. The team had previously developed Kejia, a software module capable of making decisions using a predictive programming approach. It took them three years of research and development to bring Jia Jia to life.
Jia Jia's Capabilities
Jia Jia's capabilities extend beyond conversation to include subtle "micro-expressions." She moves her lips and eyes naturally, synchronizing her speech with her movements. While she's not yet capable of crying or laughing, Xiaoping assures that these gaps will be filled in the future.
Future Developments
Xiaoping envisions Jia Jia becoming an intelligent "robot goddess." He emphasizes that she is a priceless work of art, with no plans for mass production. The team's goal is to enhance her capabilities through deep learning, adding facial expressions and fostering more active human interaction.
