Early Success

British sprinter Chijindu Ujah specializes in the 100-meter dash. At the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games, he captured silver medals in both the 100-meter and 4x100-meter relay. He also competed at the 2011 World Youth Championships, where he placed 8th.

European Triumph

In 2013, Ujah became the European Junior Champion. His breakout performance came on June 8, 2014, at the Fanny Blankers-Koen Memorial, where he finished second with a time of 9.96 seconds. This accomplishment made him only the 92nd person in history to break the 10-second barrier.

Personal Background

Ujah's parents are of Nigerian descent. He trains at the Lee Valley Athletics Centre in North London under the guidance of Jonas Tawiah-Dodoo, who also coaches Olympic champion Greg Rutherford.
