Early Life and Move to the United StatesBorn on October 31, 1985, in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, Kerron Clement moved to the United States with his family in 1998. His athletic abilities quickly shone, establishing him as a standout runner at LaPorte High School, where he graduated in 2003.
Collegiate Years at the University of Florida
Clement continued his education and track career at the University of Florida. He excelled in both areas, winning multiple USATF Youth Athletics Championships and achieving accolades on the NCAA stage. He graduated in 2007 with a college degree and a notable track record.
Citizenship and International Success
In the summer of 2004, Clement became a US citizen, allowing him to represent the United States in international competitions. Shortly thereafter, he claimed gold in the 400-meter hurdles at the IAAF World Junior Championships and triumphed in the National Collegiate Athletic Association championships.
Broken Records and Major Victories
On March 12, 2005, competing for the University of Florida, Clement etched his name in history by breaking the indoor school record. His impressive career boasts significant achievements, including victories at the 2007 World Championships, two USA Outdoor Championships (2005, 2006), and two NCAA Outdoor Championships (2004, 2005).
